In Tochigi prefecture, there are the “Nikko Shrines”, which were registered as World Cultural Heritages in 1999. Chiba prefecture is adjacent to Tokyo and facing the Pacific Ocean it is blessed with abundance of seafood. Yokohama, in Kanagawa is a city famous as Japan’s international port and Yokohama has one of the largest Chinatowns in the world as well as areas rich in European/American culture.

Attractions
Among the World Cultural Heritage “Nikko Shrines” in Tochigi, Nikko Toshogu is a shrine where Tokugawa Ieyasu, famous as a historical figure in Japan, is enshrined. In the compound there are many buildings and cultural property of national treasure level. From Nikko Toshogu, Kinugawa hot spring is only about an hour away by train. Along the Kinugawa valley there are many Ryokan’s and hotels which make it one of the best hot spring districts in Kanto.
Mt. Narita Shinsho-ji, located in Narita, Chiba is well-known for its number of visitors coming to worship making it one of the most visited temples in Kanto. This temple is said to have the second largest visitors in Japan to make the first visit of the New Year.

Activities
Funabashi Andersen Park located in Funabashi-shi, Chiba prefecture is a park comprised of five areas including a field athletic area, area recreating the rural landscape of Denmark and area where you can experience the natural beauty of the four seasons. Since you can bring your own food and drinks, it is perfect for a family picnic.
Nikko Edo village in Nikko-shi, Tochigi prefecture is a history them park recreating the Edo period of Japan. While dressed as a samurai, courtesan or ninja from the Edo period you can learn about the basics of martial arts and also experience Japanese archery.

Shopping & Gourmet
The Yokohama Minatomirai district is full of shopping malls including “MARK-IS” is minatomirai, Queens Square Yokohama and Yokohama World Porters. Furthermore, at Yokohama Chinatown, you can taste many authentic Chinese dishes. Chiba is littered with mega shopping malls such as the Shisui Premium Outlet, Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu and Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari.
Tochigi is famous as Japan’s largest producer of strawberries. Especially “Tochiotome” is very popular as a strawberry brand of Tochigi. In addition, Utsunomiya Gyoza and Sano Ramen are local food well known all over Japan.

Entertainment
At Nikko-shi, Tochigi prefecture there is the “Tobu World Square”, a museum recreating buildings from all over the world and world heritages in 1/25 scale size. “Yokohama Cosmo World” in Yokohama is an amusement park in Minatomirai with a large Ferris wheel as its landmark.
