Another one of the typical temples in Kyoto is "Kinkakuji Temple", famous for the hall with gold gilding on the outer walls. Rokuonji Temple including Kinkakuji is also registered as a world heritage. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the largest aquariums in the world. The huge aquarium reproducing the Pacific Ocean is worth to see. You can see various sea creatures such as whale sharks known as the biggest fish, as well as seared and earless seals, sea otters, and Pacific white-sided dolphin.
"Kawadoko in Kibune" or riverside terraces in Kibune in Kyoto are places you may forget about the smothering heat during severe summers in Kyoto. The terraces are built just over the upper stream of the Kamogawa River, which then runs through the city of Kyoto. The Kinki (Kansai) area is famous for the abundance of gourmet foods. Kobe beef from Kobe is one of well-known Japanese beefs that Japan proudly presents. Osaka has a large variety of local specialties good for walk-and-eat, such as Kushiage (deep fried skewers), Takoyaki (octopus dumplings). Kyoryori, or Kyoto's cuisine amuses the five senses of people with not only the taste but also the looks and atmosphere. "Obanzai" is traditional home cooking passed down in generations in Kyoto, using seasonal foods such as Kyoto vegetables in season and wisely minimizing the waste.
Kobe harbor land is an attractive place, where you can find anything you want: shopping, gourmet foods, amusements, wedding, cinema entertainment, and hotel accommodation. You should not miss Universal Studios Japan, when visiting the Kinki (Kansai) area. Opened in 2001, it is a theme park in which you can experience the world of the Hollywood popular movies and animations. Recently the park is also popular for events and attractions collaborated with globally popular animations and games.
